Thomsen Splint
A night corrective apparatus for hallux valgus. Recommended for nighttime use on a barefoot. Used in the prevention and treatment of bunions.
Instructions for use
Indications (target patient group)
- Prophylaxis in the formation of bunions.
Contraindications:
- Skin changes within the impact of the product.
Intended user: The medical device is intended for laypersons (non-professional users).
Usage:
Put the big toe into the splint and fasten with the use of hoop and loop fastening, so that the polyethylene frame is located between the big toe and the second toe. The efficiency of the product can be significantly increased if before usage you expand and relax the tight muscles around the toe either manually or with the help of a special tool: Qmed HalluFit. Try to increase the range of motion by flexion and extension of the toe and expand the shortened ligament by moving the toe towards the midline of the body.
It is highly recommended to start the product usage gradually and shorten the length of the hoop and loop fastening gradually. A new antibacterial, respiring and durable foam has been used on the hallux part, to provide better comfort long-lasting usage.
Maintenance:
Store away from direct sunlight and ensure they are not twisted. Use soap or shampoo with warm water to gently hand wash. Dry before wearing.
Disposal of the medical device: The device must be disposed of following the applicable local environmental regulations.
ATTENTION!!! Do not walk wearing Hallux Valgus Night Splint. The Splint is designed to be used while lying in bed or sitting.

Failure to observe proper personal hygiene and inappropriate cleaning detergents can cause abrasions or other ailments associated with increased sweating and bacterial growth.
NOTE: Any serious incident in connection with the device must be reported to the manufacturer and the competent authority of the Member State where the user and/or patient is based.
